The Information Technology Specialist program is a way for candidates to validate foundational IT skills sought after by employers. The IT Specialist program is aimed at candidates who are considering or just beginning a path to a career in information technology. Candidates can certify their knowledge in a broad range of IT topics, including software development, database administration, networking and security, mobility and device management, and coding.

• Exam vouchers are transmitted electronically via e-mail and are non-refundable.
• Expires one year after date of purchase.
• Please allow up to two days for processing.
• The holder of this voucher number is entitled to take one exam at a Certiport Authorized Testing Center.
• The voucher number can be used to take any one of the following IT Specialist certification exams: Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Computational Thinking, Cybersecurity, Databases, Data Analytics, Device Configuration and Management (Win 10 or Win 11), HTML and CSS, HTML5 Application Development, Java, Javascript, Networking, Network Security, Python & Python Next Generation, or Software Development.
• In the event that you do not pass the exam, a retake code will be emailed to you. You may retake the exam after waiting 24 hours from the time your initial exam was first started. Retake vouchers for IT Specialist must be used within 60 days of the failed exam.
• Certiport Authorized Testing Centers (CATCs) reserve the right to charge a proctoring fee.

• Python Next Generation includes performance‑based questions, allowing you to write and evaluate real code during the exam—mirroring real‑world development scenarios.
• The original Python exam remains available as a selected‑response format.

• Device Configuration and Management is available for Windows 10 or Windows 11.
• While Windows 10 has been retired by Microsoft, both versions share the same Objective Domains, with Windows 11–specific concepts reflected in the objectives.

How to get started on My Pathway

You begin by earning your first certification. The product on this page provides you with a single voucher that can be redeemed at a CATC to take your exam. Should you pass that exam, your journey has already begun. The next step would be to purchase another voucher and pass another required exam. For example, earning 3 of the 3 required certifications listed on the My Pathway page at Certiport.com would grant you the credential of App Development Freelancer.

After purchasing this product, you will also need to create a Test Candidate profile at Certiport.com in order to register and take your exam. When you are logged in at Certiport, an entire section is devoted to My Pathway where your progress with all pathways are tracked so you always know where to go next.
